Big Sis

I would say that Reagan has adjusted to having Avery in the house, not to say that there aren't moments of jealousy but we are very pleased with how far she has come in the last couple of weeks! She has even suprised us twice in the last week. When we were getting their pictures taken we left Avery inside because it was so hot and she was sleeping (don't worry there was someone to watch her!) and when we went outside Reagan started to whine and cry reaching back for the door. I am certain that she was doing it because of Avery...she loves being outside so it wasn't that she didn't want to be outside! One other moment that had us looking at each other smiling was on Sunday. She came inside and saw that I was in the kitchen working on dinner. She looked in the livingroom and then ran to Avery's bedroom crying, she was looking for her. When she came back I picked her up and showed her that she was on the counter in her bouncy seat. Once she saw Avery she smiled and started talking.

We finally got a picture of Reagan "holding" Avery.

Whenever Avery is on the floor doing tummy time, Reagan is right there with her.

Proud Dada

Can you tell that Adam is a proud Dada?

Today God Spoke My Name

Avery had a very special weekend, she was baptised. It was a beautiful day shared with family. We even had a special visit from Brandon and Emily for the weekend. It was great to have everyone here to be a part of such an important day for our family.

More Avery

It's been a little crazy around here lately but it seems like we are starting to get into a routine and back to normal again!

Avery had a big day today, she had her two week check up and had to have her hearing rechecked. She failed her hearing in both ears at the hospital but passed it with flying colors today! She is gaining weight and is up to 8 lbs 5 oz and 20 inches long. She is a good sleeper and a lazy eater. She is up about two times in a night to eat.

I thought you might like to see some of the pictures that we have taken in the last two weeks since we've been home.

Meet Avery Elizabeth!

I would like to introduce everyone to the newest member of the Lewis Family; Avery Elizabeth! Avery was born on August 2 at 7:17 PM. She weighed 7lbs 9.3 oz and was 19 3/4 inches long. She has a full head of dark hair!

It was a long and challenging day (more on that later) but we were so happy to hear those first cries and those words that every parent wants to hear, she's healthy!

First picture with mama.

Our first family picture. As you can see Reagan was pretty curious about who Avery was. Her first words after seeing her were "what's that". Unfortunately and not according to my plan, Reagan came down with a temp on Sunday afternoon so we only let her come to the hospital for a couple of minutes on Monday night. This was especially hard on me because I had only spent one other night away from her prior. Needless to say I was excited to bring Avery home and be together as a family. Reagan is taking her time adjusting to having a new little sister at home. Each day she seems to get a little better, she even gave Avery a kiss last night before going to bed.

We are truly blessed and thank God for another healthy little girl.

Old McDonald's Farm

Last Friday Reagan and I took a road trip and spent the day with Dustin, Beth, Josh, Lauren and Ella! I had thought about going down to Cedar Rapids for the day but was so excited to hear that they weren't busy and could join us for a trip to Beaver Park's petting zoo. I haven't been there for several years and I guess the memories that I from there are obviously from when I was Josh's age. Even though it wasn't a "petting" zoo the kids enjoyed seeing the farm animals and I enjoyed catching up with Dustin and Beth!!

Here are some pictures from the zoo. We can't wait to do it again sometime real soon!
