Baby Update

On Thursday I went in for my 15 week checkup. Everything looks great and I am measuring right on. The babies heart rate was 160. Starting to slow down now that it is growing. They said that it was moving around a lot and asked if I had felt it move it. I didn't feel Reagan kick until about week 20, but this one I have been feeling for a couple of weeks now. I am actually loosing a little weight with the pregnancy. A change because with Reagan all I wanted to do was eat! The only thing I am really craving with this one is pickles (which is funny because I couldn't go near them with Reagan)! I don't go back until the middle of March. We will have another ultrasound at that time and if we would want (which we won't) we could find out the sex of the baby. Sorry guys! We are going to keep you waiting until it is born!

Happy 1st Birthday Reagan!

On Thursday Reagan celebrated her first birthday!! It worked out that I was able to stay home with her that day. We spent the morning hanging out and playing. We met Adam for lunch and then Reagan and I went to my 15 week doctor's appointment. She got to hear her little brother/sister's heart beat for the first time! We ended the night with Kindermusik. It was kind of an emotional day for me. I can't believe how quickly the last year has gone! She has brought so much joy and love to our lives.





On Saturday we had her birthday party. All of her aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and great grandparents came to celebrate her big day!! We kept telling her all morning long that a bunch of people were going to be coming to see her so she had to take a good morning nap. I planned the party to start at 11 because she normally sleeps from 9:30-10:30, she must have been so excited about her party that she slept for about 30 minutes. Needless to say I was a little nervous but she did great! She was her shy self and wasn't sure why so many people were staring at her but she had a lot of fun!

Her party theme was cupcakes and we ordered pizza and breadsicks for lunch. She had her first bite of pizza but wasn't too thrilled. She loved the breadsticks though! She got all kinds of books which she loves, clothes, a ball game that shoots balls out (this reminds me of the Bozo the Clown), a farm refridgerator magnet set that plays music and says the animal noises, a wooden farm puzzle and some money. Adam and I got her a indoor/outdoor castle. It has a swing, slide and little rock wall. We put it together and let her play with it down in the basement. She loves the to go down the slide and wants to go up the rock wall but doesn't know how yet. She will have a lot of fun playing with it this summer.

We had a great day and want to say thank you to everyone for coming and celebrating our little girls' first birthday! It means so much to us to have our families together to celebrate such an important milestone in our lives.

Playing in the Snow

All winter long Adam has been asking when he can take Reagan sledding. If you aren't familiar with where we live there is a huge snow hill across the street that he has been drooling over. I think he has been using Reagan as an excuse to go himself! I have been a mean mom and said that she is a little too young to go down those hills...maybe next year! We did however get her snow pants and boots on and let her experience the snow. She wasn't real sure what we were setting her down in but wasn't happy when we brought her inside!

Where did that come from?

We had a very relaxing weekend this weekend. We did a little running around but managed to spend a great deal of time at home.

Last night we put Reagan down for bed like normal around 6:30. I went to bed at 9 and woke up to Adam rushing into the room that Reagan just threw up in her crib and was having a hard time breathing. After a couple of minutes of examining her and discussing what to do we loaded her up in the car and took her to the ER. Of course it was in the middle of a snow storm! The roads were awful and there were car accidents all over town. Call me a bad mom but all she wanted was to be in my lap and this seemed to calm her down and help with her breathing but when we passed a three car pile up I quick buckled her in!

Shortly after getting to the ER the nurse came in and listened to her lungs and heard Reagan cough. Immediately she said, "I think she has croup". I was relieved to hear that and knew that she could be treated and it wasn't anything more serious. One more puke session, two breathing treatments, one steroid shot, a chest x-ray and a prescription for steroid medication and we were sent home around 2 AM.

I stayed home with her today. She is doing much better but still has a cough. Hopefully we have a snow day tomorrow so I can stay home with her one more day.

Kindermusik

I took Reagan to her first Kindermusik class tonight!! I wasn't sure what to expect but have heard nothing but good about the program and since Reagan loves music so much I figured we couldn't go wrong! She was pretty shy and reserved, she just sat back and took everything in. We sang a lot of songs and played with many different objects. It seemed that every time she would get comfortable with a new object it was time to pick it up and go to a new activity. She of course didn't like this, in fact she was the one that screamed each time I took something away!! When she started to cry there was another little guy that would start to cry. Next week I think I will take her blankie in or something to help distract her from the transition times! The class meets once a week through the middle of May. There is a lot of up and down so it should be interesting when I am six and seven months pregnant!

We are...PREGNANT!!

That's right, you read it correctly! We are expecting baby number 2! Our special bundle of joy is scheduled to arrive August 9th!!

We found out that we were expecting in early December. We wanted to keep it a surprise and tell our families at Christmas. I found Reagan a t-shirt off of Amazon that says I'm Going to Be a Big Sister. We wrapped this up and had her open it last at both of our parents houses.



I had my first 12 week doctor's appointment on Friday afternoon. It is always a relief to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time! The baby's heartbeat was nice and strong at 172! If I remember right, Reagan's first heartbeat was 171.

We love my OB doctor. He is so nice and very personable. When we told him about me having the flu so badly a couple of weeks ago he ordered up an ultrasound! So we got to see the little one already! So far everything looks good! We saw the baby kicking it's arms and legs along with it's nose and eye sockets.

We made cookies this weekend and decorated them with pink and blue frosting. We both took a couple of dozen cookies to work to share our news. I was surprised that I didn't have a ton of people come up to me saying it's about time you shared your news...especially because I have an obvious pregnancy belly! I guess I did a good job of hiding it!! Adam wasn't the only one sharing news today! One of his co-workers brought a cake in with pink and blue frosting as well. We are due four days apart!

Reagan doesn't know it yet, but I am sure she will make a great big sister!
