That's right, you read it correctly! We are expecting baby number 2! Our special bundle of joy is scheduled to arrive August 9th!!
We found out that we were expecting in early December. We wanted to keep it a surprise and tell our families at Christmas. I found Reagan a t-shirt off of Amazon that says I'm Going to Be a Big Sister. We wrapped this up and had her open it last at both of our parents houses.
I had my first 12 week doctor's appointment on Friday afternoon. It is always a relief to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time! The baby's heartbeat was nice and strong at 172! If I remember right, Reagan's first heartbeat was 171.
We love my OB doctor. He is so nice and very personable. When we told him about me having the flu so badly a couple of weeks ago he ordered up an ultrasound! So we got to see the little one already! So far everything looks good! We saw the baby kicking it's arms and legs along with it's nose and eye sockets.
We made cookies this weekend and decorated them with pink and blue frosting. We both took a couple of dozen cookies to work to share our news. I was surprised that I didn't have a ton of people come up to me saying it's about time you shared your news...especially because I have an obvious pregnancy belly! I guess I did a good job of hiding it!! Adam wasn't the only one sharing news today! One of his co-workers brought a cake in with pink and blue frosting as well. We are due four days apart!
Reagan doesn't know it yet, but I am sure she will make a great big sister!

Blowing Kisses
We have been teaching Reagan how to blow kisses for a couple of days now. She picked up on it yesterday and blew me kisses this morning as her and Adam were leaving for daycare. When I picked her up this afternoon Julie (our daycare provider) said to me, "Reagan did the sweetest thing today at lunch, she blew me kisses".
When she was eating her supper tonight I caught her on video blowing kisses.

Teething SUCKS!!
For the last week Reagan has been one crab apple!! She is getting her bottom "I teeth" and has just been miserable at night. Last night was no exception. She woke up four times screaming and crying. We would feed her a little bottle, rock her back to sleep, put her in her crib and about two hours later we would awake to her cries. Hopefully tonight we get some sleep and those teeth poke through soon!!

Can you say picky eater!
Supper time around here has been nothing short of frustrating for us lately. Reagan inherited my picky eating habits. I wouldn't say I am a picky eater these days but I have been known to be in the past. I guess what comes around goes around...
If it isn't puffs, yogurt melts, Cheerios, fruit or bread she isn't interested. She must think she is on a carb only diet! She will eat oatmeal in the morning and sometimes chicken noodle dinner from her baby food but that is about it.
Tonight I tried Lil' O's (Spaghetti O's made by Gerber)she took a few bites but then was more interested in playing with the spoon. What child doesn't like Spaghetti O's??

The flu bug strikes!
Our healthy family took a major hit this weekend...the flu bug hit us! I woke up in the middle of the night Wednesday to Reagan coughing. After a quick look at the monitor I saw that she laid back down and went to sleep so I didn't think anything of it. Thursday was a snow day for me so I let her sleep in. When she woke up I could smell the vomit on her. A closer look in her crib and there was a mess! She didn't have much of an appetite and was a little extra cuddly which I enjoyed. Later that morning I got a phone call from Adam. He said that his stomach was pretty upset and that he was going to come home early. He had a conference call at 1:30 and then would be home. It wasn't but 30 minutes later and he called to say he was coming home. He spent the rest of the afternoon in bed. Reagan seemed to be feeling better, hadn't got sick since the middle of the night so I thought maybe she was on the uphill slope when she decided to puke all over me. A mommy first. I decided that night that I better call for a sub. She wouldn't be able to go to daycare and if Adam wasn't feeling any better someone would need to watch her. Thursday night I woke up to some stomach cramps and Friday morning I knew I was in for it. Unfortunately Adam was forced to get better because it hit me with full force. By Friday afternoon I could feel my body starting to shut down. This is when I told Adam that we better start thinking about taking me in. By the time we got to the ER it was 4:30. I was so dehydrated that they couldn't get an IV in me. They poked me at least five times before finally getting a vein that wouldn't collapse. They said that if I hadn't come in on my own I would have been taken in by ambulance because I would have passed out in a few hours. Five bags of fluid and six hours later they decided to admit me. I called Adam who was out in the car with Reagan sleeping and told him to go home (this is when you wish you had family in town). I received several more bags of fluid and was discharged Saturday around 3. I was happy to be home but was very weak and believe it or not tired.
We tried to lay low today and relax. None of us have much of an appetite but are happy the nightmare of a weekend is over.

Ellie found a new friend
From the day we brought Reagan home from the hospital Ellie has pretty much ignored her. She hasn't disliked her but hasn't taken an interest in her. This all changed within the last week. Ellie discovered that Reagan eats human food just like we do! Reagan is going through a phase right now where she only wants to feed herself. She doesn't know how to do this with a spoon yet so it is all finger foods. Reagan also discovered that if she drops something on the floor Ellie is quick to her feet! She especially liked this when we were feeding her peas last week:)

Here are some other cute shots that I took while she was eating. In the first photo you can see her two top teeth peaking out in her smile. She still only has four top teeth and two bottom but she has been working on at least one new on the bottom.

Relaxing Week
Reagan and I had such a relaxing week together at home. We didn't leave the house much and honestly stayed in our PJ's most days. We played with all of her new toys that she got for Christmas and did some cuddling as well. It is going to be a reality check for all three of us tomorrow morning! I have already set my alarm clock, packed my school bag, packed Reagan's daycare bag and reminded Adam of his duties for tomorrow morning(just in case he forgot them...it has been a week and a half)!
My goal is to leave the house without any tears...we will see if that happens!
I hope everyone has a great start to the week!
